Simply searching for something to feel grateful for makes your brain more efficient, strengthens your emotional intelligence and changes the neurons in your brain making it easier to be happy.
And gratitude also helps you sleep better. Yep, science shows that if you wake up and can’t get back to sleep, one of the most effective things you can do is focus on what you’re grateful for and you’ll be more likely to be snoozing right away.
So when you’re having a tough day or night, take a moment to think of three people, animals or experiences you can be grateful for, past or present. You’ll immediately begin to reset your hormones, rewire your neural pathways, and positively enhance your emotions, even if you can’t come up with much because it’s the very act of focusing on gratitude that produces these shifts.
